Who We Are
The Tabernacle of God's Presence
David's Example
David gave us the ultimate example when he built the first prayer room. In Psalm 132:3-5, David says, “I absolutely will not enter my house, nor get into my bed—I certainly will not permit my eyes to sleep nor my eyelids to slumber, until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob (Israel).” He was committed to building a house, a habitation, for the presence of the Lord. He vowed not to rest until it was done.
In Psalm 27:4, David says, "One thing I have asked of the Lord, and that I will seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the Lord and to meditate in His temple." His highest aim, his greatest goal in life was to DWELL, to GAZE, and to MEDITATE. In the prayer room, our goal is to provide a place for people hungry for God's presence and Glory to be able to do as David did.
"All of them were united in PRAYER, gripped with ONE PASSION, interceding night and day." Acts 1:14
The New Orleans Prayer Room will be a place where singers, musicians, worshippers, ministers, and anyone hungry for God can come to worship and pray. We are building a place where God's manifest presence can dwell. Come and join us as we cry out night and day in prayer for revival in New Orleans and throughout the world.
The International House of Prayer
We are not a branch or franchise of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOP-KC), but they have provided an incredible model for building a house of prayer, and we honor and respect and step into the legacy that they created. Our passion for night and day prayer began at IHOP-KC, and if you want to learn more about the prayer movement, we recommend you go to their website or even better, visit the prayer room yourself.
